After honing her craft at two Greenwich, CT design firms, Karyne Johnson opened her own practice in 1986.  She possesses an extensive knowledge of the history, resources and materials of her trade. She is able to seamlessly integrate classic nods to history with contemporary needs and aesthetics.

She creates a space which balances a beautiful environment with comfort, warmth and the individuality of the client and the client's lifestyle. The harmonious existence of all these elements is the result.

She is also able to act as an art consultant and has acquired works of art for her clients' homes. The calibre of work is impressive, including paintings of 19th century Hudson River School painters, French Impressionists and sculptors whose works are included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's permanent collection.
